Why do my fish get sick?

Unfortunately fish like humans get sick. There are a number of factors:

• Poor water quality
• Incorrect temperature or sudden changes of temperature
• Handling
• Parasites
• Overcrowding and fighting with other fish
• and a host of other causes

All of the above will cause the fish stress and knock their immune system around making them more subsceptible to diseases and infections

Prevention is better than cure, so it is better to make sure your fish have a happy and healthy environment.

Before using any medication, we always recommend that you test the water quatity parameters (more about water quality and testing) and read the instructions thoroughly.

Be careful to diagnose diseases correctly as many symptoms can be similiar to other diseases.
